Who we are

Hawes Community Primary School is located in beautiful rural Wensleydale, North Yorkshire, England. The school was opened in 1879 and we currently have 90 children attending school aged from 3 (Nursery) to 11 (Year Six).

We have four classes Nursery, class 1; Reception/Year One,

class 2; Years Two andThree and class 3; Years Four, Five and Six.

We set up a blog to be able to reach out to others and in part answer the question... who are we? Even after a year we are still very new to blogging, please get in touch if you want to know more about us and what we do. Please leave a comment for us if you visit one of our posts and if we can be of help please ask.

Our blogging project started in January 2011.  We have no ICT specialists on the staff and anything that we have learnt has been shared by the 'digital staffroom' that is the school blogging community.

We have also borrowed very heavily from the pathfinders in other school blogging communities in particular:

Mrs Yollis  http://yollisclassblog.blogspot.com  ,

Mrs Morris  http://2kmand2kj.global2.vic.edu.au  ,

Mrs Monaghan http://middlehampri2.posterous.com/  ,

Mr Salsich  http://jmsalsich.edublogs.org  and

Mrs Moore  http://edublogs.misd.net/techiekids

A big thank you to everyone.

In our first year we have had nearly 6000 unique visits from over 100 countries.

Now we enter 2012 and as a school hope to be able to collaborate on a number of projects and share our work with others.
